Sunday 20/11 I had a booking for a lifestyle newborn shoot* in Dunkerque (FR). Coincidentally, weather forecasts predicted quite stormy conditions. So I decided to leave early and have a look around at the seaside. Not so much to experience nature in full force, but I wanted to see if I could make some images of those rather deserted and grim Belgian coastal villages during bad weather.
I decided to stop in Oostduinkerke and Sint-Idesbald, which I know well because I spend quite some time there during my childhood. Hence the “back to the roots” in the title… Certainly after discovering the beaches and landscapes of Texel, it’s been quite a while since I’ve been at the Belgian West Coast. I walked around, not even for a long time, and this is what I found:
