Côte d’Opale

In october 2013 I attended a two day workshop with Belgian landscape photographer Bart Heirweg. Main goal was to learn how to work with ND filters. The first day was quite hard on me, with exercises on finding compositions that really work. Focus on the second day was on the use of filters. Below are some results of two inspiring days on the beaches of this lovely region in France.

Bray-Dunes

On the northern beaches of Pas-de-Calais you can find some ship wrecks which were left beached during Operation Dynamo (1940). I visited the location twice, but circumstances were not ideal on both occasions. Continuous drizzle got my filters wet all the time on the first try, then 6 Beaufort winds caused the tide to remain too high to expose the wrecks during the second attempt.
